If you're a new buyer though, this app is still highly recommended, but maybe consider its older, cheaper versions that offer pretty much the same functionalities. Despite the very few new changes, existing users will still appreciate the free upgrade. If you've been looking for an easy and effective way to make retouches to your photos, Portraiture is a good option to consider. Intuitive and highly effective retouching tool New buyers might want to consider older versions, though, as there are very few differences with the newest release. While existing users are eligible for a free upgrade. Portraiture is available as a one-time purchase. What's more, the results are quite good and oftentimes don't need any more changes. The option to apply automatic retouches is one of the standout features of Portraiture. This same tab also has adjustment sliders for brightness, contrast, even add a touch of warmth based on your preferences. The last one is Enhancements that will let you adjust the sharpness and detail levels of your photos. In addition, there are sliders to tweak for feathering, opacity, and fuzziness. Here you can adjust your subjects' skin tones. First off, you have Smoothing, which will let you apply various smoothing effects to your photos, and adjust how strong they will be. When you first open an image file, control sliders will be available to you on the left side and are divided into three sections. All this is happening in what is NOT the default location LRc is expecting.Portraiture features a well-organized user interface that makes it quite easy and intuitive. I need to have Photoshop open and then go back to Lightroom and cmd+e to work Rosetta2 version of Photoshop to work. but switching from Lightroom to Phosohop (directly cmd+e while its closed) instantly disables this option. For fun (or not) I copied all old develop presets to the newly created Develop Preset folder and restarted LRc. I am seriously considering finding alternative for skin retouch plugin for my m1 mac mini. I see a new Develop Presets folder was auto-created as expected and sits beside Develop Presets.old. Just to confirm this, I closed LRc, renamed the Develop Presets folder to Develop Presets.old and restarted LRc. I toggled Preferences>Presets>Store presets with catalog checkbox and restarted, but LRc isn't finding or converting all the presets. I have confirmed all are in the alternate 'wrong' location that LRc is looking at and was able to import one preset manually from that location but LRc is not loading the saved develop presets as a whole. Of bigger issue, LRc doesn't load the Develop Presets. I could continue like this, but I'm not sure whether there are long term issues with continuing with the file locations as they are. So it appears that at start up LRc is successfully loading all presets and such, but in this 'wrong' location ( Macintosh HD / Users / / Pictures / Lightroom / Lightroom Settings). The metadata presets were missing from LRc and a new Metadata Presets folder was auto-created and sits beside Metadata Preset.old. Then went to Macintosh HD / Users / / Pictures / Lightroom / Lightroom Settings where I believe LRc is pointed and renamed the Metadata Preset folder to Metadata Preset.old and restarted LRc. The metadata presets are still there telling me LRc is looking at Macintosh HD / Users / / Pictures / Lightroom / Lightroom Settings. (I renamed the Metadata Preset folder in Macintosh HD / Users / / Library / Application Support / Adobe / Lightroom and restarted LRc. I've confirmed this is were LRc is referencing all the actions, presets and templates. Macintosh HD / Users / / Pictures / Lightroom / Lightroom Settings. Somehow I saved the LR Settings folder with all presets and such in a second location. One copy of the LR specific presets are saved in Macintosh HD / Library / Application Support / Adobe / Lightroom. On my Mac the Library folder resides beside Users, not in Users, by default. Per the migration guide LR specific presets are to be located in Macintosh HD / Users / / Library / Application Support / Adobe / Lightroom. Second, in spite of LRc being able to successfully see the settings info in this 'wrong location' LRc can't load the Develop Presets. Not sure whether to continue with all the LR specific presets etc in this alternate location or try to redirect LRc to what should be the default location. LRc can see almost all in their alternate location and LRc seems to run as expected. Neither is exactly as noted in the LrQ guide. LR specific presets and such reside in two locations (no idea how I did this). I am up and running on the Mac after redirecting LRc to the proper drive name to link up all the images in all folders. However, it's not without a challenge or two. The process of migrating isn't terribly difficult.
